Access to information is a powerful tool for influencing change; however the small numbers of women accessing information renders the attainment of gender equality and pro poor policies difficult. The VLH empowers youth and women by enabling them to access ICTs and use them to promote democratic values so as to attain gender equality and social justice. Through this innovation of the, YEC becomes a vehicle for women and youth leader’s participation and capacity building in leadership using ICTs. The hub also provides space for women and young leaders to freely engage in debates that enhance their leadership, entrepreneurial and ICT skills.
